One of the East Yorkshire coast’s lesser known stretches of beach has been hailed as the perfect romantic getaway.
While many people make a beeline for the likes of Bridlington, Fraisthorpe, Hornsea or Withernsea, it is Barmston that has been deemed the place to go as Valentine’s Day approaches.
Parkdean Resorts has identified the long stretch of relatively untouched beach as the place to go, as Yorkshire Live reports.

Barmston lies midway between Bridlington and Hornsea and what might make it perfect for couples is the fact it is quiet which means they may have much of the long sandy coast to themselves.
Considering it is mid-February, the weather will be relatively kind too with the rain set to hold off and the chance of some sunshine. But it maybe not quite warm enough to share a romantic dip in the sea unless you’re hard core wild swimmers.
The village of Barmston is picturesque and you could have a wander but, other than the Black Bull pub, there is not a lot on offer for a romantic meal.
Parkdean say: “Barmston is the perfect pitstop for couples wanting to experience a brilliant beach, and explore local cities such as Leeds, York, and Sheffield, all under a two-hour drive away.”
Parkdean also suggest Cayton Bay, near Scarborough, Skipsea and Withernsea where the company also has holiday home sites.
