A pristine lake near will be having a free ‘Spring Splash’ so families can try out boating activities over the weekend.
Kelsey Lakes & Gardens in the village of Burtwick is a 20-minute drive from Hull city centre, or just 10 minutes from east Hull. The lake offers safe ‘wild swimming’ with an on-site sauna for warming up afterwards and boat hire.
Every year, the ‘Spring Splash’ invites visitors to hire a canoe or kayak free of charge. A life jacket is also provided.
Kelsey Lakes & Gardens confirmed the popular annual event was returning on Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4. Posting on its social media page, it said: “Looking for a fun-filled family outing this weekend?
“Kelsey Lakes & Gardens in Burstwick, East Yorkshire, is hosting two exciting Family Fun Days on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd & 4th – from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, enjoy free canoeing and kayaking on the picturesque leisure lake.
“*Please note that paddleboarding is not included in the free activities.
“After your time on the water, the BBQ will be lit selling burgers and hot dogs, or visit the catering van for a selection of hot and cold drinks, ice-cream, and cakes.
“On Bank Holiday Monday, May 5th, Kelsey Lakes & Gardens will be open as usual, with standard pricing applicable for all activities.”
Hull Live has previously visited Kelsey Lakes & Gardens to try paddle boarding yoga and absolutely loved every minute of it.
