New McDonald’s restaurant opens its doors in Hull

It is open 24 hours a day

Hull has welcomed its newest McDonald’s on Olso Road. The 24-hour branch opened on Wednesday, September 23, and is the ninth for franchisee Geoge Michniewicz.

It is a 59-seater restaurant that is expected to create around 70 full and part time jobs. It is open for dine-in, takeaway, Drive Thru, Click & Serve and McDelivery.

Franchisee George Michniewicz said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Hull and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer. People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create.

“We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality.” The Oslo Road restaurant has been built in-line with the McDonald’s Reimaging programme, which “combines a new restaurant layout with the latest technology to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for customers, including McDelivery via the McDonald’s App and Drive Thru options”, the fast food giant said.

Due to the increase in order-in delivery services using McDonald’s, the new kitchen design and separate courier waiting area means staff will be able to serve more quickly. McDonald’s said the restaurant has been designed in line with its “commitment to sustainability”.

The steel used in the building is certified with Environmental Policy Declarations, making it among the lowest-impact steel manufactured in the UK. Reduced glazing to the Shopfront and Serving Booths reduces the energy demand for heating and cooling. Recycled plastic was used for the lining of the roof parapet panels and the building has solar panels on its roof.

Traditional aluminium and steel window frames have been replaced by timber and wall lettering from recycled material, including McDonald’s own used coffee grounds. The new Oslo Road restaurant opened today (Wednesday) and is open 24 hours a day.
