Music lovers are in for a treat this September as Driffield Silver Band prepares to deliver not one, but three “Last Night of the Proms” concerts across East Yorkshire. The ‘wold famous’ ensemble will bring their trademark blend of stirring classics and toe-tapping modern favourites to three unique venues.
The first concert takes place on Friday 5th September at Driffield School (7:30pm), where audiences can enjoy a feast for both the ears and the tastebuds. Local business GRAZD will be serving up their signature charcuterie boxes, available by pre-order only until Thursday 28th August. Tickets for this performance are £8 for adults and £5 for children, available online, through the band’s Facebook page, or on the door.
The second stop on the tour is the grand surroundings of Burton Constable Hall on Saturday 6th September (7:00pm). This atmospheric venue promises a spectacular Proms evening, with tickets priced at £15.
Finally, the band will head to Breighton Airfield on Saturday 20th September (7:30pm) for a unique concert finale. Tickets here are £5 for airfield members and £10 for non-members.
Across all three performances, audiences can expect the best of both worlds: the rousing traditional “Last Night of the Proms” favourites alongside a fresh twist of pop and movie soundtracks. From patriotic singalongs to big-screen anthems, there will be something for everyone.
A spokesperson for the band said:
“We’re so excited to bring this series of concerts to our community. Each venue offers something special, and the mix of classic Proms repertoire with more modern music means the evenings will be both fun and memorable.”
With three opportunities to experience the magic, seats are expected to fill quickly. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
